What are Claude finance skills?

Do I need DualEntry to use these skills?
No. Every skill runs on file exports from any accounting system. If your ledger lives in DualEntry, skills like the Daily Close Digest can run against live data instead of exports.
How do I install a .skill file in Claude?
In Claude, go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload a skill, and select the file. It's available in every chat after that.
What's the difference between Claude skills and MCP?
A skill tells Claude how to do a task; MCP gives Claude live access to your data. Skills run on uploaded files. Connect Claude to DualEntry via MCP and the same skills run on your actual ledger — no exports.
