Gusto
Every Gusto pay run posts as one consolidated journal entry, dated to the pay date, coded to accounts you mapped once and never touch again.
Overview
Gusto runs the payroll. DualEntry records what it cost, without anyone exporting a report and typing it into a journal.
On connection DualEntry pulls your Gusto company, payroll vendor and pay statement items, then syncs pay statements on every run. Each earnings line, tax, employee deduction and employer contribution maps to a GL account once. All pay statements sharing a payment group together, each item and classification combination becomes one line, and the entry is dated the payment's pay date.
Per-employee detail is rolled into the consolidated entry rather than posted individually, so your ledger stays readable.

Data synced
The integration syncs the following data types:
Key Features
- One entry per pay run
All pay statements that share a payment group into a single consolidated journal entry, dated the pay date.
- Items mapped once
Earnings, taxes, employee deductions and employer contributions each map to a GL account and reuse that mapping every run.
- Optional department splits
Gusto departments matched to DualEntry classification lines split journal entry lines by department.
- Tax consolidation
Multiple tax types posting to the same account collapse into a single Consolidated Payroll Tax line, unless you turn it off.
- Vendor stamped on every line
The mapped payroll vendor is stamped on each journal entry line, keeping payroll traceable in the sub-ledger.
- One-way by design
Data flows from Gusto into DualEntry only. Nothing is written back.
