How Andera took its close from weeks to days on DualEntry
“Before DualEntry, I wouldn’t have believed in a one-man finance team, but I can confidently say that is a real possibility.”
Andera builds AI that tests audit controls end to end, across SOX, operational and compliance work, for internal audit teams and accounting firms. Founded in 2024 by Aryo Patel and Tinah Hong, the company raised a $37M Series A led by Lightspeed in June 2026, and its team is deliberately split between auditors and engineers. A company that sells automation to audit teams was never going to be comfortable with a back office that ran on manual reconciliation. [NAME], who manages accounting and operations at Andera, saw that gap widen as the company grew.
The Problem: Transaction volume outgrew QuickBooks
Before DualEntry, Andera ran its finance on QuickBooks, with Ramp and Brex alongside it. That setup held until the company started to scale.
“As we started to scale, we saw a large increase in the volume of transactions,” Carina says. “With something as brittle as QuickBooks, it was really hard to reconcile a lot of the transactions flowing in and out of our accounts.”
Reconciliation is where volume shows up first. Every new transaction is one more to match, and the close ran two to three weeks.
The Solution: AI that does the prep work, with the accountant still in the seat
Andera went looking for a system that worked the way its own product does.
“We are an AI-native company, so we were looking for solutions that played in the same space we did,” [NAME] says. “Something that was AI-enabled, but still kept the accountant in the seat.”
That second condition is the important one. Andera wanted automation to handle the preparation, without taking judgment away from the person responsible for the books.
The switch was quick. With NextDay Migration, Andera moved off QuickBooks and was working in DualEntry the following day. “The next-day migration was, in fact, the next day. I don’t even feel like there was an implementation phase.”
The support team made the change easier. “The customer success team was by far the most attentive group of people I’ve ever had to work with.”
What Andera runs on now:
- AI-prepared journal entries: DualEntry drafts the entries, and the accountant reviews them instead of building each one by hand.
- A streamlined close: the close runs through DualEntry rather than a QuickBooks process that struggled with volume.
- NextDay Migration: QuickBooks data moved over in a day, with no drawn-out implementation project.
Results
The close went from two to three weeks to two to three days.
“Having an automated system like DualEntry help prepare journal entries and streamline the close has made it a lot more efficient,” [NAME] says. “My job managing accounting and ops has felt a little bit lighter.”
It has also changed what [NAME] thinks a finance team at Andera needs to look like. “Before DualEntry, I wouldn’t have believed in a one-man finance team, but I can confidently say that is a real possibility.” That is not a claim about today’s headcount. It is a statement about what the system now makes possible.
The advice to other teams is simple. “For anyone considering DualEntry, take a look at the product and judge for yourself. I think it will really save you a lot of time and effort.”
